Here we go again...September 30, 2008

Here we go again... Brock got his routine fever yesterday. It started out mildly, but quickly progressed to a high fever. He had 4 seizures last night. Two of the seizures were more severe and two were very small. He was disoriented last night and seeing things. After he got out of the bath tub (trying to get fever to go down) he kept looking into my room and in a panicked voice asking "Who is that, Why is he here?" There was no one there and he was very worried. Later, I was laying with him in our bed and he had had another small seizure and he told me that he just "wanted to get angry." I felt so bad for him! He doesn't understand what is going on in his little body (the doctors barely do) and I think he is finally getting frustrated with not feeling right. He knew that he was having trouble talking and that he couldn't walk right, but he doesn't remember the seizures. His fever has still been quite high today, at one point it reached 105.1. Since we are going to UTMB, we don't have the same regular contact with our doctor that we normally do. We are going to skip this cycle of fever for testing and resume where we left off with the next round. I am hoping that his fever will go down tonight or tomorrow, but it does usually stay for 3 to 4 days. ~Sherri
