At the hospital...August 29, 2008

At the hospital... This has been an interesting Friday to say the least! The kids were supposed to go to Canyon Lake this weekend with my in-laws. We had finally agreed to let Brock go even though we were very hesitant about it. About an hour before they were going to leave, Brock started running a fever. Per doctor's orders, we called the office to get our admitting instructions. Then headed out the door to the hospital. We made it to the hospital and were on our way out of the parking garage when Brock started having a seizure. Trace was carrying him (thankfully) and we proceeded to walk into the hospital as fast as we could. Once we reached the entrance, Brock started jerking even more so we laid him on a bench. We were immediately surrounded by police, a chaplain and nurses. There was not much we could do except watch Brock seize. He stopped seizing and the chaplain said a prayer over him. We picked him back up and proceeded to admitting. Brock had still not fully come out of the seizure at this point. We came to the 6th floor and were immediately put in a room. It was nice that doctors and nurses were able to actually see him right after seizing. That rarely happens. He finally started coming out of the seizure and fell asleep. I am not sure how long we will be here right now. Brock is not happy. He realized suddenly that his brother and sister went to Canyon Lake without him. For now, we are waiting to see what will be done while we are here. We are hoping the hurricane does not come here just yet as we are in Galveston! I will keep you posted.
