The latest.....
Just so everyone knows what is going on with Brock.....
The past 6 weeks have been pretty uneventful for Brock (which has been great). However, on our trip to Iowa he developed his fever once again. He had 2 seizures on the way there and one small one that night as well.
I think we had our hopes up since he skipped his fever cycle last month that the fever would just not return. We will wait it out once again for the next cycle. We have not been able to start any treatment since his cycle was thrown off. We were supposed to start treatment 2 weeks ago but held off since his fever mysteriously skipped a cycle. Now, we are delayed again.
We still have lab work to do before the next fever begins. If our timing is right then we will be able to get an accurate view of how much treatment we will have to do. The last round of blood work that we did showed a drop in his neutrophils and a rise in the monocytes just as the doctor predicted but his body caught up with neutrophil production faster than it had before.
Not that I am hoping for his fever to return, but we are anxious to begin treatment. At least if he follows the pattern then he will have his fever just before Christmas and not during!
We did, however, have a great time in Iowa. We did not get to play in the snow this year. It actually snowed the day before we got there and an hour after we left. Talk about timing! We saw snow on the way home, but did not play in it. We took the kids ice skating....Brock even did a few laps although he resembled Bambi's first steps. It was a very nice trip and the kids loved it!
We are looking forward to our trip after Christmas to New Mexico and will hopefully see snow then.
